I was doing some book shopping at Barnes & Noble (one of my favorite places), for my birthday, and I came across a book titled, "A Treasure of Classic Mystery Stories". Well, it seemed like a book well-worth having so I 'scooped it up. True to the title, there are a variety of mystery stories and the two I started with were "The Hound of the Baskervilles" and " The Murders in the Rue Morgue". Before I started reading these I seemed to be in a rut when it came to reading. Now, however, I have re-discovered why I love to read a good mystery. So the old adage is true, if you have problems go back to your roots -- in this case, murder mystery roots.  I am still reading these classic mystery stories and I have not come across a bad one yet.
As a side note I didn't stay long , as I usually would, at Barnes & Noble because they had shelved the entire fiction section by genre and so it was very difficult (and less enjoyable) for me to find what I was looking for. I wonder if others feel this ware or not.  Just a thought....but as for me please put it back the way it was.  I want to be able to find my authors.
Anyway, find a classic mystery story and get lost in a classic. I highly recommend it.
